One LBD Four Ways
It's my first time doing a "versatile look" post. I don't know how I've come so far without doing one, but after finding this BCBGMAXZRIA dress, it was such a no-brainer. I decided to turn this into a guide on how to style your own LBD (s) to take you from one occasion to another and how to style it with four different vibes. Now let's give our LBDs some love and keep reading!
1. Babe in Charge
This look is for those who love to feel like they're running the show or those who want to feel like that more often. There are times when I feel like I run the show, haha. That's definitely how I feel when wearing this dress. It fits, it's sooo versatile, and it was only $24. It was a total score from the moment I purchased it. How could I not feel like the head babe in charge? I also scored these cute booties in the same shopping trip, which is what sparked my first outfit idea for this LBD. Since Fall is officially here, I thought I'd throw in a little olive green and layering. These are my favorite high-waist slacks that I've had for over three years now. Tip for the day: investing in a great pair of slacks is something you'll never ever regret! Another fun fact - standing in a stance like this for 5 minutes per day has proven to help with confidence (I don't remember where I read this, so CRED to whoever that was)! I have to say, sporting these Wonder Woman-esque cuffs certainly helped with that! I could take this outfit from a fashion show-gig to a night out with my ladies.
2. SW Vibes
I had to get some South West vibes in, mostly because it's in my blood... And I haven't gotten to rock this belt yet! But that's only because I haven't had the right dress and it furiously doesn't fit into the belt loops in any of my pants... Hahaha can we just take a moment to realize how annoying that is?! What I really wanted to show is that you could take this look from chic + sexy to modest + simple. There are only three additions to this dress. I didn't overthink it and realized that South West pieces can pair so well with any LBD. At first, I didn't think it would go so well with leather, but I couldn't have been more wrong. Did you know that one of the main materials for cowboys/cowgirls is leather? If you think about it, they use it and need it for so much! How great for us fashionistas that it doubles as a beautiful, bad ass material! I could easily take this from an urban birthday bash to a two-stepping night on the dance floor.
3. A Lil Grunge
I love to add a little grunge here and there. It's fun and makes me feel like a rebel (which is naturally not me). While I wish there was some wear + tear in this denim jacket, the deep red details paired with the semi-choker chain necklace, and old converse make for a subtle yet grunge look. I guess you could say I channeled Drew Barrymore circa 1990s for this one. Agh, she's a baddie! I also love this look because while yes, it's supposed to sport a little rebellion, the clean hemlines make it easy to rock as something put-together yet casual. What occasions would you wear this look to? Would you pair it with differeny shoes? Accessories?
4. Rock Chic
I kept it comfy with this look. Actually, I wore it for the remainder of the day after this shoot, where I attended a college football game and a night out with friends. All I had to do was throw on a cute, cropped jersey over the top and lose all the accessories except for the bag and shoes! I was comfortable, got a lot of compliments (and to the front of the lines at the bars, hehe), and loved that I switched it up from the usual shorts and a college tee. You might think I'm crazy for this one, but I promise that if you rock what you put on, you can freely take it from one occasion to another.
Thanks for scrolling through this look book, and I hope you are set with some inspo for your own LBD (s)! How are you going to wear your favorite this Fall and upcoming holiday season? I would love to know where you usually get your inspiration from and what accessories/pieces make your heart skip a beat. Drop those links below and happy Fall time, ya'll!
