Recap: Gap Family & Friends Event
While I'm sure you're all sick of my Gap posts, here is just one more about the awesome event I had the privilege to host with some amazing people. While I can count on one hand how many people showed up, it was an awesome part of this whole process. By this, I mean the whole process of trying to immerse myself into the world of fashion and more specifically, styling! Becoming a personal stylist has always been one of my dreams and my ultimate goal when it comes to landing my ideal career. I just want to thank the wonderful lady that included me in on this awesome event (Siara Rochell, Balia Boutique)!
So what was the event all about? Well for Gap, it was a really welcoming promo event to get family and friends to shop for 50% off of their entire purchase. For me, it was a styling and marketing opportunity. An opportunity for me to FINALLY test out my styling skills. I was able to assist others in something they don't feel comfortable doing themselves. I was able to help capture their personal styles in a way that was 1) cute & versatile and 2) affordable!
It's quite a cute story as to how I got on board with this event. A couple weeks ago, I attended the Bloguettes Happy Hour in Scottsdale, Arizona. This is where many women in my position (as far as blogging, photography, networking, etc.) flocked to simply meet and support one another. One of these women was Siara Rochell, founder of the lovely online Balia Boutique and one of the sweetest gals I have ever met. She has been needing some support with her newly launched blog and I have been needing some help getting kicked into the fashion world. Aside from the fact that we adore each other, we were a perfect match!
Not only was this event such a great eye opener as to how helpful people can be, it was a great reminder as to what I am truly passionate about, even more than styling- connecting and making meaningful relationships with others. Thank you to Gap Scottsdale Fashion Square for having us both and to all the people that have supported me throughout this journey of blogging and fashion-loving. I know it's not an easy thing to support, but I promise it will be worth it someday <3
